New for 2018, a 1.6L turbo-diesel engine hatchback joins the Chevrolet Cruze fleet. The Cruze sedan diesel offers up to an EPA-estimated 52 mpg highway – the highest highway fuel economy of any non-hybrid/non-EV in America. The diesel trims feature a variable-nozzle turbocharger that broadens the engine’s torque curve and supports greater high-rpm horsepower. A common-rail fuel system creates multiple injections per combustion for greater performance, combustion efficiency and quietness. Not be outdone, the standard 1.4L turbo engine with direct injection enables 0-60 mph acceleration in 7.7 seconds.
