Find your next family memeber at Twin Cities Auto Show! Subaru will be hosting puppy and dog adoptions as a part of their Subaru Loves Pets Campaign. The puppies and dogs will be from Midwest Animal Rescus and Services, a local organization commited to the awareness and support of homeless dogs and cats in their area. Through rescue, rehabilitation, foster car, training and adoption all roads lead home for these special animals.
Visit the Subaru Loves Pets - Pet adoptions to meet and play with dogs and puppies who are ready for their fur-ever homes, and please consider adopting a pet or spreading the word about an adoptable pet on social media using #subarulovespets.
For those who already have a furry family member, there will be activities where you can make something for your pet or for an animal currently without a home. You can engrave a pet tag, make a pet knot/ball toy or pick up a Subaru Forester plush toy (availability may vary)!
Midwest Animal Rescue & Services (MARS) is committed to serving both pet and parent, finding homes for animals that were once lost, left behind and forgotten, while bringing harmony and enhancing education in our community. They are a dedicated and passionate group who rescues dogs and cats that are at risk and homeless through no fault of their own. Once in MARS' care, these companion animals are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed or neutered. Special attention is provided for those animals that need additional time and medical care before going to a new home.
MARS is committed to helping pets in need whenever possible, including all breeds and ages. The rescue does not have a shelter facility for boarding, and are a foster-based group that runs on the support and aid of dedicated volunteers and supporters. The fostered pets live in homes, as family members, receiving all of the love and care they would in an adoptive home, until they are adopted. The adopters gain greater insight into the pets’ behavior and personality versus interacting with an animal who has been living in a kennel and the pet is more prepared for a loving home life. This helps produce the best match possible for the new families, resulting in a 99% success rate!
“At Subaru, we look forward to opportunities that help our furry friends in need, and we want to return the unconditional love they show us each day,” said Alan Bethke, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Subaru of America, Inc. “We saw great success with our pet adoption events last year, so we wanted to not only sustain, but build upon, that momentum to help even more pets unite with a loving lifetime companion.”
Subaru of America is proud to partner with local animal shelters and rescues to host this pet adoption event during the auto show. Together, the goal is to find forever homes for the many animals in need in the community. Over 200 pets have been adopted since Subaru began hosting adoption events at auto shows in 2018.
According to ASPCA, approximately 7.6 million animals enter shelters each year. Our hope is that these adoption events can raise awareness for the animals in need of forever homes and ideally, unite a companion pet with a loving lifetime owner.
Since 2015, Subaru retailers have partnered with local animal welfare organizations through the Subaru Loves Pets initiative to impact over 109,000 animals in need across the country. The video above is from their yearly "Subaru Loves Pets Month" in October.
